who is me
Hiya! Writing about me requires quite a bit of backspacing and hyperactivity and self-loathing but alas, here I am with a dedicated website after all. I’m Samantha, a professional creative and unprofessional outsider — known to my microcosm of the milky way as Sam or Mopsey or even ladytundra (I’ll get to all that…).
This site was created to showcase some ideas that made it from the clouds to the surface. I wish I could tell a younger, concerned me that life as a fantastical realist will help her on the hike to great heights. And for the meantime I’d still let her believe it’s as a pro snowboarder.
Master of Arts in Communication Studies — it’s the type of degree when declared is often received by polite head nods. The same nods I received as a Philosophy Tutor whilst an undergrad. Perhaps communication and existential depth are inherent skills. But humans are such social creatures with such complex social needs — proven abruptly by the 2020 global pandemic.
At least to me, specializing in communication simply means creating and refining a message that is shared with the world. A brand’s voice is an entire expression of identity and sentiment. Words and design and other optics are just the mediums.
Today I serve the people as a brand messenger :: Senior Content Manager for Saucony.com, and part-time freelance – experienced in various marketing + creative disciplines. IRL, having lots of hobbies is a hobby of mine and I feel my best when I’m outside with my scruffy sidekick, Tucker.
Oh yeah, and who is ladytundra? Just a silly, seemingly-stuck *screen name* I made eons ago to show my unconditional love of winter. Snowboarding has helped me combat debilitating anxieties so I’m forever indebted to the healing power of powdery mountains. And Mopsey? That one is a secret ;-)
